Blue Wire's Spinsters Nominated For An Ambie Award

March 1, 2022

Blue Wire is happy to announce that one of our flagship NBA shows, Spinsters, has been nominated for the Ambie Awards in the “Best Sports Podcast” category. The second iteration of the annual award show, the Ambie Awards recognize excellence in both audio and podcast talent, with nominations reserved for the best and brightest in the industry.

Co-hosted by Jordan Ligons and Haley O’Shaughnessy, Spinsters is aptly described as “a basketball podcast for people who like basketball.” With coverage on the latest basketball news on Tuesdays and long-form reporting on Thursdays, Haley and Jordan interview special guests such as Chris Herring, Katie Nolan, Mina Kimes, and more while engaging with the league’s latest storylines with a nuanced and refreshing style that showcases the duo’s background in journalism.

When asked about the nomination, O’Shaughnessy said, “We’re honored to be nominated next to so many brilliant shows. When we created the podcast, our goal was to talk about basketball in a way we felt was missing from the landscape — if you’ve listened, we want to thank you for making that bet pay off. We want to also thank our deeply talented contributors who have worked on the show, and the entire Spinsters team.”

This year’s ceremony of the Ambie Awards is taking place at 6pm PT on March 22 from The Mayan theater in Los Angeles, with an exclusive livestream of the event on Twitch.
