Blue Wire today welcomes the new class for Launchpad, the summer talent incubator program which began in June 2021. The program is designed to promote practical experiences for the next generation of business leaders and creatives in sports media. Launchpad is a paid program open to anyone regardless of educational affiliation.
In addition to working closely with the Blue Wire team on a curated set of projects, the Launchpad interns will participate in learning sessions and networking events that will give them a foundation for continuing their careers. Additionally, Blue Wire offers a weekly guest speaker series featuring experts from across sports media to anyone who applied to the program.
2022 Launchpad Interns
The Blue Wire Launchpad Program is led by Brittany Machado (VP of Business Operations), Delila Penson (Launchpad Co-Creator) and Luis Curiel (Program Coordinator and 2021 Launchpad Intern)
“Blue Wire Launchpad is a rare moment to focus on strength-building while talent is on the rise,” said Machado. “By investing in mentorship we widen the talent pipeline for our business and our competitors; that's good for all of us. I hope this Launchpad crew leverages the knowledge gained from our amazing team to aid them on their path to becoming a healthier, more creative generation of sports media professionals.”
Since the launch Blue Wire’s Launchpad program has received more than 200 applications from across the country. Final candidates are selected after a series of interviews with team members from across the organization and matched to departments that best align with their stated goals of the program. Applications open in the spring of each year, interested individuals can sign up to the Blue Wire newsletter to be the first to hear about new opportunities.
