Blue Wire has hired Casey Reed as its top marketing executive, the company announced Thursday. After nearly five years on the brand innovation and social media teams at Hulu, Casey will be in charge of shaping Blue Wire’s brand strategy and building stronger bonds between our creators and their fans. She will also provide streaming expertise as Blue Wire moves podcast IP up the chain into feature films and documentaries.
While at Hulu, Casey worked on award-winning digital campaigns for original title launches such as The Handmaid’s Tale, The Mindy Project, Castle Rock, and PEN15. She also wore many other hats including social media execution, brand management and innovation. She worked with top brands like the WNBA, Los Angeles Sparks, Toyota USA and Team Toyota athletes, NFL on XBOX, and Getty Images and earned a “Breakthrough Marketing” award for launching Hulu’s first immersive virtual event during COVID-19.
"We like taking bets on rising stars, and Casey fits Blue Wire’s ethos of hustle and innovation. Our team was drawn to Casey and her vision for expanding our brand. Blue Wire just got a whole lot stronger today,” said Blue Wire CEO Kevin Jones.
Casey has also been an advocate for representation in all of her work. At Hulu, she developed brand, culture, and innovation campaigns largely focused on D&I initiatives. She has also spoken on leadership panels on innovation and empowering women in the workplace and created a workshop for LGBTQ+ youth at the LGBT Center on representation and identity.
"Representation in sports was the whole reason I got into marketing in the first place. As Blue Wire scales, diverse storytelling and innovative content formats become increasingly important and we’re in a really unique position to present the Blue Wire brand vision to the world for the first time," said Casey.
Casey is already working to put her vision in place and is making an immediate on the company. Please join us in welcoming her to the Blue Wire team.
